Surveying
This is one of the most renowned departments in the Institute. Together with cartography, it’s one of the earliest departments to be established in the former survey school. It offers a two year Diploma in Land Surveying and Geometrics which aims at producing Land Surveyors and Survey assistants (Chainmen).
The department currently has 5 members and is presently headed by MR. OGWANG JOHN BOSCO
Other departmental members include;
- Male Emmanuel
- Okiror Job
- Kiyingi Hamza
These members are well equipped with knowledge on how to train survey technicians through survey measurements, survey adjustments, GNSS usage, presentation of survey data and reports on land. In addition to solving and interpreting land matters with national land laws, providing informed solutions to land conflicts while offering professional advice to the population in utilization of the land resource.
This is further boosted by members’ vast knowledge and experience in the current survey practice since all the members are registered with the Institution of Surveyors of Uganda (ISU).
