Academic Registrar

The office holder reports to the head of institution and directly controls in charge of Estates and hostels.

The main purpose of this officer is to manage the administrative and academic affairs of the institution.

The key outputs include ensuring that all matters relating to students’ academic and staff affairs are dealt with effectively and efficiently.

The key activities for this officer include;

  1. Being in charge of students’ admissions
  2. Being responsible for examinations
  3. Organizing graduation ceremonies
  4. To act as minute secretary of the academic board
  5. Keeping all records relating to the institution and students’ academic affairs
  6. Issuing academic transcripts and certificates
  7. To advice the head of institution on academic matters relating to student and general management procedures and
  8. To manage non-teaching and support staff

On behalf of the Office of the Dean of Students, I take the pleasure to welcome you to Institute of Survey and Land Management. It is a great honour that you pick interest in this Institute. The office of the Dean of Students is committed to making students living at ISLM, comfortable, enjoyable and memorable through the provision of a range of students’ friendly services.

At the Institute, we are committed to shaping skilled professionals and leaders in the fields of survey, land management, physical planning, cartography and related disciplines. We strive to create a supportive, vibrant environment that fosters academic excellence, personal growth, and a deep sense of social responsibility.

As the Dean of Students, my role is to ensure that each of you has access to the resources, guidance, and opportunities you need to excel. Whether through academic support, extracurricular activities, or professional development, we aim to nurture a community of learners dedicated to lifelong learning and ethical practice. We are here to support your journey, from your first day on campus to your graduation and beyond.

The Dean of Students’ is responsible for the students’ welfare which includes accommodation, feeding, recreation, spiritual nourishment and psychosocial support through guidance and counseling.

The Dean of Students coordinates the activities of student accommodation and is responsible for the affairs and discipline of students in the Institute from Halls of Residence, each of which is governed by a Hall MPs.

The Dean of Students maintains students’ discipline and oversees the general management of student affairs in accordance with the law, Institute’s Rules and Regulations. The dean of students is the secretary to the Institute’s Disciplinary Committee.

Also directs matters related to the operations of the students Guild, coordinates and guides the activities of students Associations, Students Leadership and Career Development events.

The Dean further directs the organization and management of Students Sports, Games and Recreational activities.

I encourage each student to take full advantage of the services and experiences we offer, actively engage in your learning, and contribute to the dynamic community that defines our Institute. Together, we can build a brighter, sustainable future in land management and beyond.

Once again I would like to thank you for choosing Institute of Survey and Land Management, as the place to pursue your studies. It quite known that you will encounter a number of challenges in your course of study.
